Our Story

Bryan and I met in youth group in, I'm guessing, 2000. We both moved to Stevens Point in the fall of 2003. I moved to go to school and as I say, Bryan moved to follow me and work for our former youth pastor. After being friends in Green bay for 3 years and continuing our friendship in Stevens Point, we started dating in December of 2004. We were engaged by February of 2005 and married on June 25, 2005.

Six years in a nutshell; we lived in an apartment, bought a car, started a wedding video business, sold the car, bought a house, got a dog, had a baby (Kylie May in 2008), got rid of the dog, kept the baby, moved to Green Bay for better jobs & to be close to family, live in an apartment, and got pregnant for baby number two.

We started this blog in August 2011 when we found out that our daughter, Layla Faith, was diagnosed with a Lethal Skeletal Dysplasia and was not expected to live. Although the Doctors gave us the option to terminate the pregnancy, that was not an option for us. We grew in our faith as we carried Layla to 34 weeks. The beginnings of this blog is our journey of weekly appointment to make sure her heart was still beating. As well as an ultrasound with a specialist every three weeks. Layla was a huge blessing to us as a family. We have all grown in our faith and in our relationships through her existence. It was an unexpected blessing to find out that sharing our story has also touched and encouraged other people's lives. Layla was born and passed away on November 29, 2011. We truly cherished the time that we had with Layla. We are still waiting to find out the official diagnosis.

We have used this blog to update our friends and family. Thank you for your prayers and support. Your encouraging words and prayers have helped us see the blessing through these raindrops.
